About the role:
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who shares our passion for shaping the future of product search. As DevOps Engineer, you will enable our software engineers and data scientists to quickly spin up proof-of-concept systems and test new ideas, as well as administer, tune, and grow our data driven platform and services in production. You will strive to surpass SLA with a relentless focus on our service level indicators, automation, reliability, and availability. You will also play a key role in our overall security strategy.
In this role you will:
Support software development by implementing infrastructure as code and the necessary infrastructure to run the full product stack.
Drive the improvement of service costs while maintaining service level objectives and infrastructure automation.
Collaborate closely with product developers to ensure that the designed solution responds to non-functional requirements such as availability, performance, security, and maintainability.
Drive high reliability into systems by working closely with software development and QA teams.
Implement strategies that increase system reliability and performance through on-call rotation and process optimization.
Implement automation for improved collaborative incident response in real-time.
Update documentation, run book tools, and modules for incident response.
Develop and support processes to maintain uptime, SLAs and availability of critical platform components.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, or related/relevant field.
3+ years working with code management and deployment processes, procedures, and tools, in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering role.
Passionate about technology and a strong sense of curiosity and desire to seek out new ways to improve processes, automate everything, and learn anything.
Proficiency with CI pipelines, code repository and related tools (Jenkins, Nexus, Bitbucket).
Experience with monitoring tools (such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, and/or New Relic).
Skilled in identifying bottlenecks, anomalous behavior, and resolving the root cause.
Strong collaborative skill set working with both internal and external teams.
Ability to work and communicate under intense pressure during outages and other critical project implementations.
Hands-on experience in AWS and/or Google Cloud infrastructure.
Competency in one or more programming or scripting languages to create automation.
Knowledge of cloud deployment tools and methodologies (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
Must have a deep understanding of Kubernetes and Docker architecture and associated tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with at least one configuration management solution (i.e. Chef, Ansible, AWS CodeDeploy).
Strong collaboration and good communication skills.
Able to work in a team oriented, fast-paced startup environment.
